1. Minimum of five (5) dancers.
2. The dance must start, be performed, and end in the same line. The dance must be choreographed for one but danced by many.
3. May not expand or contract your formation.
4. Precision footwork and body mechanics are required at all times.
5. No progressive dance steps or arm movements.
6. No dancer may have body contact with any other member at any time.
7. Time limit - three (3) minutes.

Open Line (Moving Line—Formation Line)

1. Minimum of five (5) dancers.
2. Dance must be performed in some form of line at all times. You may bend, rotate, pass through and touch the floor. No dancer may have body contact with any other member at any time.
3. Arm movements are allowed, but are not required.
4. Time limit - three (3) minutes.

Traditional Line

1. Minimum of Five (5) dancers.
2. No figures
3. Footwork must be traditional style - drag slide clogging.  Line is a category whose choreography is for one person but danced by many.  No dancing on/off stage.  No trading, twisting, bending, passing through, making V formations, columns or interaction of lines.  No body contact.  No moves that appear to be show or stage production oriented.  No dance lifts, pull throughs, splits tosses, leaps, cartwheels, or flips.
4. Traditional country, bluegrass, western or hoedown music with or without vocals.
5. Dance must NOT be cued or called.
6. Time limit - four (4) minutes.

Precision (4 or more couples)

1. Team must have at least eight (8) dancers. This is a couple oriented dance.
2. Dancers must be in step with each other. Precision footwork must be performed.
3. There are no figure requirements; however, figures are highly encouraged.
4. Instrumental music is required. Judges will rule individually where music is questioned.
5. Time limit - four (4) minutes.

1. Team must have at least eight (8) dancers.  This is a couple oriented dance.
2. Dancers should never be intentionally in step with one another.
3. Freestyle or hoedown footwork should be performed.
4. There are no figure requirements; however, figures are highly encouraged.
5. Instrumental music is required.  Judges will rule individually where music is questioned.
6. Time limit - four (4) minutes.

1. Minimum of five (5) dancers -- any combination of male and/or female.
2. No costume requirements.
3. Figures are allowed but not required.
4. Any type of steps are allowed.
5. Dance must start from and end on stage.  No dancing on/off stage.
6. No music allowed.
7. Judges face away from stage.  Emphasis is on clarity and sound.
8. Time limit - three (3) minutes.

Show (Artistic Expression)

1. Minimum of three (3) dancers.
2. Routine must carry out a theme.
3. Emphasis on showmanship, creativity, choreography & execution of routine.
4. Props are allowed.
5. Time limit - four (4) minutes

1. Minimum of five (5) dancers.
2. Seventy per cent (70%) of the dance steps must be clogging steps.
3. Other types of dance forms are highly encouraged.
4. Routine must include various formations, progressive step changes. Lifts & pull-throughs are allowed.
5. Any type of music is permitted.
6. You may not re-dance this routine in any other category.
7. This is not a Show (Artistic Expression) category. Only hand props are allowed.
8. This routine must exhibit elements from more than one clogging category:
   Example: Combinations of Precision, Standing Line, Moving Line, Hoedown, Artistic Expression).
9. Time limit - three (3) minutes.
